For many years Chemistry at School journal has been on the list of those recommended by State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Manuscripts published in the journal are considered for getting academic degrees of the candidate and doctor of science. According to the decision of Presidium of State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (March 7, 2008) each journal from this List has to be included in the Russian Index of Scientific Citing (RISC) therefore the following materials have to be attached to a manuscript:

  • short abstract with the title of the article, author's surname and initials in Russian and in English;
  • keywords in Russian and in English;
  • references (if necessary) in the language of the original.

All these materials are freely available online.

The target audience of Chemistry at School journal includes teachers of chemistry from various educational institutions as well as professional staff of teacher training universities therefore the priority in publication is given to materials which can help them with practical activities.

Manuscripts must adhere to the following requirements.

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Russian with a font size of 14 and1,5 line spacing, in Microsoft Word.
  • Original articles should not exceed 10-12 pages.
  • Manuscript should be sent to the Editorial Board beforehand as the preparation for publishing takes three months or more.

The following data must be attached to the article:

  • first name, middle initial, last name;
  • work place, post, academic degree and scientific rank;
  • contact phones;
  • e-mail address.

Manuscript Submission and Peer Review

  1. All scientific manuscripts submitted to Chemistry at School journal are reviewed by members of the Editorial Board who are recognized specialists in the subject of the materials offered for reviewing. Reviews are kept in the Publishing Office for 5 years. Copies of reviews or motivated refusal are sent out at the request of authors or the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
  2. The criteria for a publishable manuscript include these areas of evaluation in the review: educational relevance of the subject considered, scientific and methodical literacy of the text, personal contribution of the author to the development of the problem studied, presentation, accurate and valid conclusions. In case of refusal the reviewer is obliged to give a motivated response.
  3. Compilative articles containing plagiarism aren't allowed to the publication.
  4. Depending on the scientific level and presentation the following recommendations can be given by a reviewer: 1) "Publish as is"; 2) "Recommended for publishing on condition of minor or major revision by the author taking into account the remarks stated in the review"; 3) "Do not publish".
  5. A review has to be dated and signed by its author, a member of the Editorial Board of the journal.
  6. The order of reviewing of scientific articles was approved at the meeting of the Editorial Board of Chemistry at School journal on January 15, 2007.
