Summary

This article presents a lesson of learning new material on the theme “Chemical reactions”. It is intended for 8th grade students learning chemistry using the teaching complex by O. S. Gabrielyan, in accordance with the requirements of Federal State Educational Standard. The basic pedagogical idea of this lesson is the development of students’ cognitive interest to chemistry due to the connection of the subject with life, wide use of chemical experiment (in the form of video experiment, problem and home experiments) as well as various learning and cognitive tasks. In addition, the article provides a brief introspection of this lesson.

Use of the material balance for the solution of the calculation problems

The article considers the possibility of using the material balance method for solving the problems of the second part of the Unified State Exam in chemistry related to calculations of the composition of the solution obtained after the interaction of substances. The article is devoted to the process that takes into account the needs of the modern world, when the assimilation of ready-made knowledge in the course of teaching the subject is changed to an independent active cognitive activity of each student. In order to promote students’ interest and activity, it is necessary to look for such teaching technologies, which would support students’ independent acquisition of new knowledge in high school. Summary

The aim of the work is to disseminate personal professional pedagogical experience of teaching chemistry at school. As part of the school chemistry course, one of the problematic topics for students is the solution of calculation problems based on mathematical skills. Gaps in mathematical knowledge of students create problems in solving problems in chemistry. The author presents an original technique characterized by creative and innovative approach to solving problems arising in the process of teaching chemistry. When teaching the simplest calculations, the author uses an algorithm which allows students to master educational skills. Algorithmization of solving calculation problems in chemistry allows students to learn the logic of action, remember the universal scheme providing success in their studies.
