The traditional methodology of teaching chemistry is aimed at organizing the students’ learning process. Due to the introduction of the new Federal state standard of basic secondary education, it now seems appropriate to re-evaluate this approach and consider ways of creating conditions under which students can organize their own cognitive activities. The ability to organize and educate oneself defines to a large extent the success of professional activities of a young person in the context of an innovative economy where new technologies are constantly implemented (innovation is absorbed from the outside). The current article considers the conditions which encourage self-organization of students in their cognitive activities (cognition).
