Summary

The education systems of the USA and Russia are compared, the first results of an education reform in Russia are analyzed. Special attention is paid to criticism of the “universal baccalaureate” as a base for higher pedagogical education. Reducing the number of basic university courses and reducing study hours will inevitably lead to catastrophic decrease in the quality of teachers’ training, and as a result – to the crash of educational system of Russia.

The discovery of four new chemical elements with the atomic numbers 113, 115, 117 and 118 has been officially confirmed. These new elements have no official names, so far they are named according to atomic numbers in Periodic system or, to be exact, with the charges of nuclei of their atoms.
