The article discusses the relevance of the inclusion in the control and measuring materials of the main state examination (ОGE) of standardized tasks designed to test experimental skills. It is shown that the content of the section "Experimental chemistry" which is included in model programs for basic general education, corresponds to the examination contents. Examples of tasks illustrating approaches to their formulation as well as to their assessment are given.

Summary

The article explains the use of an integrative approach to the organization of professional and methodical preparation of future teachers of biology and chemistry. Today in the Belarusian universities, preparing future teachers of biology and chemistry is carried out within a single pedagogical program "Biology and Chemistry". Training involves 4 years of study resulting in receiving a qualified teacher of biology and chemistry diploma. The emergence of such a degree indicates the need to find common approaches to the organization of professional and methodical preparation of students in biology and chemistry, eliminating duplication of educational material. This requirement is dictated by the need to strengthen the practice-oriented focus in the preparation of the future teacher of biology and chemistry.

Some Facts from History of Chemistry

Marguerite Perey, the woman who discovered francium

The article is devoted to the life and work of Marguerite Catherine Perey, the famous French scientist, discoverer of francium, the first woman elected to the French Academy of Sciences since its inception in 1666. The beginning of M. Perey’s scientific activity in the laboratory of M. Curie, her work on purifying actinium sources and obtaining concentrating samples of actinium are considered. The attempts of scientists from different countries to find element number 87, predicted by D.I. Mendeleev in 1871, are described. The history of the discovery of francium, M. Perey’s activity in the postwar years, her work in the Nuclear Research Centre in Strasbourg are discusses. The influence of radioactive elements on M. Perey’s health is analyzed.

Dandruff is the most widespread head skin disorder. Millions of people visiting beauty shops, hairdressing salons entrust the beauty and health of their hair to hairdressers. Knowledge of cosmetic anti-dandruff remedies permits to use them professionally. Taking into account chemical composition of shampoos we can solve this dandruff problem. The basis of the research project was effectiveness of anti-dandruff shampoos. Students examined several items of shampoos, using experiment and monitoring. The article gives a detailed account of the project.
