The some characteristics of the proton as a particle which determines the general properties of acids have been considered. The formulas for the dissociation equilibria of weak acids in aqueous solutions are adduced. The acid strength value is proportional to the concentration of H+ ions at a given overall concentration of acid. Therefore, the relative strength of a weak acid is proportional to the square root of the acidity constant. The structural characteristics of the acids molecules, which define the initiation of acidity in solutions and effect on the strength of acids, are discussed. The necessary condition is the bond polarity of hydrogen with oxygen or with another atom in a molecule of acid. At the same time, acidic properties of binary hydrogen compounds in the groups of halogens and chalcogens are increased with the decreasing of bond polarity of them. In this case, delocalization of the electron charge by volume of the anion, lowering the probability of the reverse addition of the proton, is substantial. In the oxyacids the delocalization of the charge occurs in the presence of multiple bonds. The strength of inorganic and organic acids crucially depends on this.

The system of chemical experiments aimed at creating an informed knowledge of students on redox reactions was proposed. The behavior of the oxidizer such as potassium permanganate was shown in reactions with different reducing agents. The proposed system of experiments allows for students to examine reactions products, to determine recovery depth dependence on pH of the reaction mixture.
